Leadership ultimately is about attaining a shared vision, about generating the desired results.
The purpose of this segment is to develop a common understanding among individuals about how to use the Conversational
Leadership principles and practices taught thus far to reach desired results.
At the end of the JLC Team Leadership Development program, participants will be able to use the principles and practices of Conversational Leadership to lead their organization to desired results.
The ideas covered in this program include:
Defining the Size, Shape, Content and Context of a Learning Community
Organizations that support the Conversational Leadership model will become learning communities, will contain within them smaller learning communities and will themselves be part of larger learning communities.
The purpose of this segment is to develop a shared meaning among individuals about how to design an effective learning community so that the organization remains vibrant, dynamic and sustainable.
At the end of this segment each participant will define what it means to be a learning community, will understand their connections to other learning communities, and will be
able to put in place structures to support continued learning.
Defining the Desired Future State
It is important for organizations to know what their current reality and to envision their desired future state.
The purpose of this segment is to develop a common understanding among the participants about the value of designing and articulating a desired future state that is aligned with the enterprise vision.
At the end of this segment each participant will know how to design and articulate a desired future state for their organization’s goals.
Leading Through...Guiding Ideas, Aspiration, Motivation & Creative Tension
Knowing your current reality is an important factor to any change initiative.
The purpose of this segment is to develop a mutual understanding among the participants about the value of guiding ideas, aspiration, motivation and creative tension in effectively reaching the desired future state.
At the end of this segment each participant will be able to clearly articulate their current reality, their desired future state and the necessary learning to achieve this desired future.
Leading for Alignment and Coherence
The Conversational Leadership methodology enables organizations to create alignment and coherence in the system.
The purpose of this segment is to create a mutual understanding of how to identify work that is not in alignment with enterprise goals and take steps to eliminate those work efforts or mitigate their negative effects.
At the end of this segment the participants will know how to use conversational leadership tools to foster alignment and coherence in their teams by mitigating undesired conditions.
Leading using Strategic Thinking
Conversational Leadership tools enable leaders to think about and assess what is needed for tomorrow’s success thus thwarting reactionary behaviors.
The purpose of this segment is to develop a common understanding of the value of strategic thinking and the impact it has on upholding the desired future state of the enterprise vision.
At the end of this segment participants will know how to use strategic thinking to lead teams more effectively.
